Why didn't I think of that Wednesday

Well it's that day again!!
So today is the day I share some great tips, tricks and ideas I have found around the web that help out my family and I hope yours too!!

so here we go..
The bathroom counter is a bit more tidy now that we have this basket.
I think the actual use for this is paper plates and utensils??
Found mine at Goodwill for $2.99, cha ching!!

next...
okay, I admit I am horrible at recycling...shameful for sure! But with this system at least I feel I have a fighting chance to succeed! Plus it is easy for everyone!

okay one more....

I have a confession...I love shoe pocket caddies for stuff other than shoes :)
And this is brilliant!
I will admit though I haven't done this one yet. I currently have hooks and baskets for this stuff, but as soon as I can get another shoe caddy, this is happening in my kitchen and bathroom!!!

Well friends it has been another great Wednesday here.
I hope you all are keeping warm and safe this winter.
Thanks for stopping by today and please check out my blog on 30-Minute Meals, it's a blog hop and will lead you to many other great recipes!!

Fajita-Style Quesadillas

(originally recipe from Better Homes and Gardens, this one is adapted for my family)

Ingredients

1/2      medium red or green sweet pepper cut into bite sized strips
1/2      medium onion, halved and thinly sliced
2 TBS   coconut oil
4         6-inch white corn tortillas
1/2C    shredded Monterey Jack cheese(2 ounces)
2         thin slices of tomato
1 TBS   snipped fresh cilantro

Light dairy sour cream(optional)

In a large skillet cook sweet pepper and onion in hot oil over medium-high heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until vegetables are just tender. Remove from heat.

  1. Lightly coat one side of each tortilla with cooking spray. On the uncoated side of two of the tortillas, divide half of the cheese. Top with onion mixture, tomato slices, the 1 tablespoon cilantro, and the remaining cheese. Top with remaining tortillas, coated sides up.
  2. Heat a very large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook quesadillas for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until cheese melts and tortillas are lightly browned. Cut each quesadilla into 4 wedges. Serve warm and, if desired, with sour cream.

Coffee pot woes......

Yeah, so I have two coffee pots on my counter. A Bunn and a Hamilton-Beach K-cup brewer. Why 2? well every now and then I have to get up very early and don't have time for a whole pot, so..K-cup or I finish the pot in the evening and want another cup but not a whole pot of coffee, so...K-cup. It works for me. Anyway, this morning, well really started a couple days ago, I tried to use my K-cup brewer and water spilled out the bottom everywhere. Hmmmmm.....so I tried again, mind you I am in a hurry here, hence the one cup machine being used. The second time it made some noise and put a bit of coffee in my cup, enough to cover the bottom and it turned off. Seriously??? O my i'm gonna scream!! Kiddos are not cooperating either, we gotta go and I have NO COFFEE!!!! So quickly, I set up the machine again, push start and load everyone in the van, run back in the house to a huge mess of coffee all over the counter and barely in my cup, kids were in the van so some bad words escaped me! I left, WITHOUT coffee and really forgot about it until this morning. And so I started talking sweetly to it, you know, you've been there, "please, please just make me a cup of delicious coffee the first time and I will clean you out so good when I get back" " you are gonna sparkle and Bunn over there is gonna be so freakin' jealous" "I love you so much, you know that right? I love you way more than Bunn"! But alas it did not work, no coffee for me. So when I got home I cleaned it, even though I wanted to throw it out the window and watch it smash on the road. I cleaned it good...It is sparkly! So here I go again, I dig out the directions just in case I am missing something, I follow them exactly.....wait. wait. wait. no coffee.......It is now in the garage awaiting disciplinary action. So now what an I gonna do? I really can't afford another K-cup brewer right now and I have all these cups! I guess I will be watching the sale ads for one, I really do not know how I ever lived without it or if I am going to be able to contain myself and wait for a sale to get another one. So that is my ramble for today.
Here are some great old pictures of coffee pots to help you and I remember how good we have it now!!

I mean at least most of us don't have to make a fire BEFORE we make our coffee in the morning!

Well I feel better after looking at all these gems....thanks for stopping by!

When asked "How do you take your coffee"?????  I always reply "Seriously, very seriously"!

Tidy up Tuesday

Yeah, so it's Tuesday, again! I hope you like some of my ideas for today....some are about cleaning and some are about just general way help stay organized.  My favorite place to buy organizing stuffs is Dollar Tree or Every Things a Dollar. If you don't have one near you I am so sorry for you!!

So the first thing is this.....I mean why didn't I think of this sooner?? My kiddos are always running off with my measuring cups, I probably have 3-4 incomplete sets, so I did it...and it is awesome!! I even found those little hook thingies there too!! Cha-ching!

This next thing is pretty awesome too! Okay, I think everyone has a ton of these now, for either
water or coffee.....and I have literally zero room in my cabinets for them...so.......yeah, hang on the inside of a pantry or closet door!!

Okay, having a small kitchen brings up another pet peeve of mine....all those boxes of teas, oatmeal, chocolate milk and don't forget the Kool-aid packets...oh my they can make a girl crazy....not anymore.

wow it's getting late so I will just post one more....this is great too, especially if you have kiddos that have small fingers and are uncoordinated...lol  It can be hard for even an adult to get those card games back in the boxes or out, without tearing them...so, this rocks!

Well, my friends I am off to dream land....hope everyone has a great day/night wherever you are. Peace.
